2016 Prospect Meadows Campaign Highlights


February-Iowa Senate Subcommittee introduces SSB2212 a bill for an act modifying the state sales tax rebate to the owner or operator of a baseball and softball tournament facility and movie site.


February-CRST pledges $100,000 to the Prospect Meadows "Load The Bases Campaign"


April-The Iowa House and Senate approve the "Sales Tax Rebate" bill  SF2312 that  is sent to the Governor for his signature.


May-The Optimist Club pledges $100,000 to the PM "Load The Bases Campaign" toward a field to be used for the "League of Dreams" a local baseball program PM plans to expand to reach "at-risk" youth.


May-Governor Branstad signs SF2312 making it a law and giving PM, once operational, the opportunity to apply for a sales tax rebate based on generated revenue.



June-The Marion Metro Kiwanis host their 6th Annual BBQ Rendezvouz with proceeds going to help build the Miracle Field at Prospect Meadows for persons with special needs. 


July-Farmer's State Bank continues it's support of Prospect Meadows Baseball/ Softball Complex with a big check presentation in the lobby of the Marion bank. L-R: Doug Neighbor, Kent Neighbor, Jack Roeder, Gene Neighbor

December-The Enhance Iowa Board awards a Community Attraction and Tourism grant of $1 million to Prospect Meadows for construction of the complex.
