Prospect Meadows Launches New Logo and Donor Wall

Baseball and Softball Complex Will Open in 2019

November 8, 2018

In the summer of 2019 thousands of youth baseball and softball players from all over the country will visit Linn County to participate in tournaments at Prospect Meadows sports complex. Construction of the new complex at the intersection of Highway 13 and County Home Road is proceeding as scheduled and Prospect Meadows anticipates hosting the first tournament in late spring/early summer of 2019.

“We are excited to roll out a new logo and a new look to signify that phase one of the project is rounding third and headed home,” said Jack Roeder, General Manager of Prospect Meadows. “We have immense community support and partnerships to thank for making our vision a reality,” said Roeder.

While funds have been raised to assure the opening of Prospect Meadows in the spring of 2019, fundraising continues in order to reach the goals needed to complete the first-class amenities that will make Prospect Meadows a one of a kind experience in the Midwest.

A donor wall in partnership with the Metro Area Rotary Clubs offers a unique opportunity for those interested in supporting Prospect Meadows. For $500, donors will receive an inscribed baseball placed on the large wall which is shaped in the state of Iowa and colored to match the American flag. This donor wall will be the first thing visitors see when entering the complex and serve as the signature photo opportunity backdrop for years to come.

“Making a donation to Prospect Meadows is an investment into the youth and economy of our community, I can’t wait to see my family’s baseball on the Rotary Wall this spring,” said Dave Sorg, member of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Rotary Club.

About Prospect Meadows
Opening May 2019, Prospect Meadows is a state-of-the-art baseball and softball complex. When both phases are completed, Prospect Meadows will attract an estimated 60,000 traveling attendees annually. Those 60,000 visitors will inject an estimated $20 million dollars of direct spending into the Linn County economy each year. In addition to national and regional tournaments, Prospect Meadows will also program local tournaments, leagues and instructional camps. The complex’s Miracle Field will create the opportunity for differently abled children to experience the joys of baseball, while the League of Dreams will provide opportunity for under-served youth.
